Around Pietramurata, you can test your skills on the Massi di Prabi, the spectacular verticals of the Dain Climbing Wall, and experience the aerial thrill of “Che Guevara”, one of the most fascinating and panoramic climbing routes in the area. In just a few minutes, the picturesque Rio Sallagoni offers a unique experience among canyons and walls immersed in nature.

on the Placche Zebrate.
The Sarca Valley and the Valley of the Lakes, with their Mediterranean microclimate and unique rocks, are a true paradise for climbing enthusiasts. From the Marocche to Monte Casale, from Brento to Limarò—every cliff tells a story, every route offers a new challenge.
One of the most fascinating is the Placche Zebrate, a long slab of grey limestone at the foot of Monte Brento, between Dro and Pietramurata. Famous for its natural white and black stripes, like a zebra, this wall was re-bolted in 1992 and features routes ranging from 100 to 500 meters—an incredible playground for climbers of all levels.
I set off early in the morning, with the golden spring light and crisp air. The path to the base is gentle, and once there, the rock face dominates the view—carved by millions of years of geological history. The climb is technical, requiring precise moves and full concentration. And that’s exactly what makes it so thrilling.
Along the way, I pause to take it all in: the Marocche, Drena Castle, the Valley of the Lakes, and far below, Lake Garda shimmering in the distance. Suddenly, I catch a glimpse of a base jumper gliding from the Becco dell’Aquila—a hotspot also loved by paragliders. What a sight!
And after a day like this? Heading back to our Pietra Rara residence in Pietramurata is just perfect. Stay in our Brento apartment and you’ll feel like you never left the wall. Or choose from Casale, Marocche, or Cornetto—each with its own charm, just like this land.
