  • pietra rara roggia calavino

    Having a walk

Roggia di Calavino, a secret corner...

It is an extremely suggestive itinerary, hidden among the vegetation and in symbiosis with the water element, a very ancient bond that in the past allowed the expansion of the village of Calavino. Simple route, particularly recommended in summer months, due to the cool temperatures generated by the Roggia.

  • Having a walk | ca. 7 km

    The route of old mills

Simple walk of about 2 hours that connects the 4 villages of Vezzano, Fraveggio, Lon and Ciago. The route starts on an asphalt road from the town of Vezzano and it is about 7 km long, mostly on paths.

  • Having a walk

    The path "Dei Molinei"

The path retraces the ancient roads connecting the towns of Dro and Pietramurata, once also used by woodcutters and shepherds. It extends through the black pine forest and reaches truly suggestive panoramic points on the slopes of Monte Brento, from which the Marocche di Dro originated.

  • pietra rara marocche

    Hiking | ca. 5 km

The path of the Marocche in Dro

Easy circular path of about 5 km in the Biotope Marocche, which gives its name to one of our apartments. It is a route in an imposing rocky desert, dating back 20,000 years. On the route that passes through the Laghi Soli, Centrale Fies and Lago Cavedine areas, there is a marked point where it is possible to recognize some dinosaur footprints on a rock, preserved intact for millennia.

  • Hiking

    Teacher's road

    For experts!
The historic path from Dro to the mountain village of Braila goes up the slopes of Mount Varino, with spectacular views of the Sarca Valley. This path takes its name from the teacher Ketty Bombardelli, who took it every day to reach the primary school in Braila.

  • pietra rara don zio

    Hiking | ca. 12 km

    Don Zio refuge

    For experts!
Don Zio refuge (1600 m) is located near the top of Monte Casale (1630 m) and can be reached by a path from the town of Comano, going up from Ponte Arche. From here it is possible to admire the Sarca Valley from Lake Toblino to Lake Garda and towards the North the Paganella and Lake Molveno.

  • Hiking | ca. 2.5 km

"La via delle cavre" - Crozolam

    For experts!
“Sentiero degli Scaloni” or “Percorso alle Cavre” is a historical route created at the beginning of the 1900s by the Austrians. Made up of paths partly equipped with metal cables, suspended ladders and walkways, the itinerary is almost seven kilometers long, can be covered in 3.5 hours with approximately 500 meters of difference in altitude going up and down and it is particularly challenging.

Stage 4: from Pietramurata to Sarche.

Valle dei Laghi, March 14, 2025

Departure from Pietra Rara, our welcoming guesthouse in the heart of Pietramurata: this is where the fifth stage of the Seven Lakes Trail begins. This route was created by the Biodistrict of the Valle dei Laghi to promote sustainable tourism and highlight the richness of the territory.
I follow the cycle and pedestrian path along the left bank of the Sarca River. In front of me apples, plums and Nosiola vineyards stretch out, with landscapes that change at every step. I pass through Pergolese, a charming little village, and continue along the Rimone Canal into the wide Sarca Plain.

Silence accompanies me, broken only by birdsong and the rustling of leaves. The trail winds between vineyards, holm oaks and ancient castles, gradually climbing on dirt roads until reaching Calavino, a village rich in history and architectural beauty.

Then comes the magic: I enter the Canevai Gorge and follow the Roggia di Calavino Path, where water and old mills tell long-forgotten stories. A place suspended in time — close to civilization, yet worlds apart.
I continue towards the area of Due Laghi, near Padergnone, and walk along the northwestern shore of Lake Toblino. The lakeside path has recently reopened and it is a true gem: here, nature speaks for itself.

Finally, I reach Sarche: the stage ends.
The Seven Lakes Trail is more than just a hike. It’s a journey through biodiversity, rural history, craftsmanship and authentic flavors.
We’re waiting for you at Pietra Rara to explore this beautiful corner of Trentino together.
On to the next stage... number four!
